"The Kunsthalle zu Kiel with works from the circle of donors visiting
the Herbert Gerisch Foundation, Brachenfelder Straße 69, 24536 Neumünster.
Around 55 works from the Kunsthalle's circle of donors will be on display at the Herbert Gerisch Foundation in Neumünster this summer. The circle of donors was founded in 1978 and has been supporting the museum ever since, particularly through the acquisition of works of art. Purchases in recent years include works by Miriam Cahn, Alicja Kwade, Jeppe Hein, and Ulrike Ottinger. These works are on permanent loan to the Kunsthalle's collection. The Kunsthalle zu Kiel's circle of donors provided important impetus for the founding of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (SHMF), which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025. The SHMF has been represented for years with concerts at the Gerisch Foundation. With this exhibition, the Kunsthalle is taking up the connection between the Kunsthalle, the circle of donors, and the SHMF and is showing works from the collection on a large scale for the first time since the museum closed in September 2023. An exhibition in cooperation with the Kunsthalle zu Kiel and the circle of donors of the Kunsthalle zu Kiel."
Ulrike Ottinger's two works “Journée d'un G.I.” (1967) and “Allen Ginsburg” (1966) will be on display in the exhibition.
